What to Do in an Emergency

During an emergency you must follow instructions and directions of fire wardens and supervisors.

It is important that you know who to call. There are emergency phone numbers posted around the warehouse.

Call 000 for fire, medical, or police help if needed.

Below are the basic steps to follow in the event of an emergency.

Stay Calm: Keeping calm helps you think clearly.

Alert Others: Tell people nearby. Use alarms or shout if needed.

Evacuate: Leave the area quickly and safely if required. Follow the exit signs.

Assembly Point: Go to the emergency meeting area outside the warehouse.

Don’t Return: Stay at the assembly point until you are told it’s safe to go back. If you identify someone missing, notify emergency services so they can deal with the situation.

Make sure you participate in Fire Drills to practice leaving the building safely.
